I was inspired to fold this pixel art, after seeing this same design folded by Margaret Tsui. The overall design measures approximately 30cm (12") square, and is comprised of 576 individual pixel units, folded from 3:4 rectangles, each measuring 3.75cm (1.5") x 5cm (2"). The following number of each colour were used: - 194 x Sky Blue - 137 x Green - 119 x Brown - 44 x Red - 39 x Beige - 34 x Blue - 7 x Black - 2 x Yellow I used Toyo branded kami for this design, as it comes in a huge array of colours, though it's worth noting that darker colours sometimes transfer to lighter pixels during assembly. To avoid this, I found that inserting a plastic collar stiffener, helped to provide protection to the surface of the pixel being connected to, whilst locking the units together. Pixel units hold together extremely well, and the final piece is very robust. The outermost pixels are slightly modified, to give a clean edge.

Paper: 118 cm x 89 cm (grid size: 0.5 cm x 0.5 cm) Designer: Me Time: Not available Instructions: Not available This is one of my proud works using the EZ tessellation technique. In this work, I used a rather thick piece of paper (~150 gsm if correct). The good side is that I could make creases firmly. The bad thing about this is that it was quite tiring to make all the folds when dealing with thick paper. If you want to attempt something at this scale, be prepared as it is nothing less than an extreme sport for your hands and arms... Also, get a space for storing your work after completion too.
