Learn 32 Geometric Origami models! Modulars, tessellations, and more! On The weekend of April 11th, with some of the greatest creators. Welcome to GOC5! Yes, we are crazy about geometric origami! Our models are all without faces or legs, and there is no need to give them a pose. All we have is symmetry, play of color, challenging collapses and assemblies, repetition of steps, and endless opportunities to enjoy our free time. For you, we collected once again a mix of 32 models, from the best of the best, all over the world, and in each possible genre. Some creators will come and teach you themselves, and some will be taught by us. So, you are welcome to join the Fifth Geometric Origami Convention, with 32 workshops in two parallel classes, 11th-12th of April 2026. "The OrigamiUSA Junior Board is planning Origami University, an event to share the concepts of geometric, representational, and STEM applications of origami. This event will serve both as a showcase of the modern day universe of origami while providing a starting point for people to build connections and form community. We hope to introduce origami as both a serious art form and a tool with broad interdisciplinary applications. Origami University will conclude with an exploration of real-world STEM applications of the origami concepts we have covered. The first half of the day will consist of three STEM-oriented lectures. Each will include a talk and a related model taught by the lecturer. The second half of the day presents a unique opportunity to hear experts discuss their projects and experiences connecting origami with STEM. After the presentations, we will move into a moderated Zoom Q&A session where you can ask panelists questions about their projects, inspirations, and what they have learned through the process. The day will conclude with a hands-on design sprint, where participants will collaborate to come up with innovative applications of origami in STEM fields. Using the insights gained from the research panel and lectures, this workshop will include brief brainstorming, sketching and model making. It’s officially time to get ready for the OrigamiUSA 2026 Convention. OrigamiUSA is excited to welcome you to visit New York City to enjoy three days packed full of origami classes, shopping, and folding with fellow folders from around the world from Thursday, July 23–Sunday, July 26, 2026.

This day is all about exploring the different ways paper can be folded to create shapes, patterns, and structures. Participants will have the chance to try both simple and more intricate designs, discovering the variety and creativity that geometric folding can offer. Throughout the day, classes will highlight different styles of geometric origami, giving participants the opportunity to experiment with new techniques and approaches. The schedule is designed so that everyone can find classes that match their experience and interests, whether they are just starting out or looking for a more challenging project. OrigamiUSA Junior Board members will also teach classes on simpler models, offering a welcoming introduction to geometric folding. These sessions provide an easy entry point while still being enjoyable for folders of all skill levels. This exhibition showcased the works of 88 origami artists from five continents and marked the 55th anniversary of the first origami exhibition in the United States. The exhibit was held at 41 Cooper Square, an art museum run by The Cooper Union in New York City.
